Is it a "Belay Device" used by cavers and rock climbers?

Ian - tienes razon o bastante cerca :o bien hecho. Technically it is a ""rapelling rack" or a "rap-rack" used for belaying..I will post the whole picture shortly:o - nonombre, May 21, 2010

The device is called a "rap-rack" or "rapelling rack". Used for belaying climbers/abseilers.

Climbing rope is threaded "through" the cylinders. If you want to go down slower you thread the rope through "more", if you want to go down "faster" you thread it through less cylinders :O - nonombre, May 21, 2010
