I am doing a talk about Neruda, focusing on his exile from Chile. Would this be suitable way of beggining?

HI, Tristado, and welcome to the forum.
Your sentence sounds great, except for the word "eventual" which tends to mean more "temporary" in Spanish. For example, "trabajadores eventuales" are "temporary workers".
Why don't you use "posterior" , which means "subsequent".
