Accurate meaning of "posgrado"
If someone is currently working towards PhD in physics, are they considered to be "posgrado" after obtaining their B.A degree? Can you help with the subtleties of the different levels of degrees from high school to "post-doc" in different disciplines?
Thank you.

Graduate = one who has been awarded a first degree (BX where X means any of those letters that they use). Postgraduate refers to a student who is seeking a higher degree, a masters or a doctors degree. It also refers, as an adjective, to the higher degree or to the course of study that the postgraduate student follows.
Hence "posgrado" or "posgraduado", as accepted by the dictionary used on this site, are the appropriate Spanish words for these sublime states of being or activities.
I found no references to "posTgrado?uado" as a Spanish word.
I apologize to the ladies whose final "a" I left out; it seemed that it would make these definitions even heavier to read.

Post means = after Post graduate - after graduation (Post natal =after birth)
A person is an undergraduate until they qualify After a person qualifies/has qualified from University they become a graduate
If they go on to study for a Masters level or a Doctorate (PhD) they study as a Postgraduate.
I hope that this helps ![]()
