Acerca de las 8 horas?

Acerca de las 8 horas?

Is this correct:"Acerca de las 8 horas" to mean "At about 8 o'clock".

I figured this one out on my own, but depending how it is written in English Google Translator gives different versions, but not the above one. It has used the words alrededor and torno which all generally mean about the same thing.

In Mexico, you will commonly hear, Por las ocho or Las ocho, más o menos.

If the speaker is really serious about this time, which is usually not the case in Latin culture, you will hear, A las ocho en punto.

Cerca de las ocho, alrededor de las ocho but not "Acerca". Acerca means "about" as in "about something". Like in "I saw a movie about frogs" "Vi una película acerca de las ranas"

I use A las ocho mas o menos sometimes but that is not literal.

A eso de las ocho.

"Cerca de" or "Aproximadamente" would be better. Acerca de means physically close to.
