Can you? What preposition would be used, que, de, como?

Can you say

Esto es lo mismo que ayer? for example

"mismo" is more often used to say two things are the same rather than to say nothing has changed.

In your example, I would say:

"Esto es igual que ayer"

...and, by the way, "que" is a pronoun while "como" is an adverb. You need to understand the classification of words and how they're used to learn any language "out of the book". Speech-based learning is different as it consists much more of learning, repeating and modifying examples.

thanks. Then how would you say this is the same street as before? (if you were lost while driving for example) - isonder, May 18, 2010
Neat - it's "la misma calle" because it's identity has not changed. Oops! do I need too rewrite my original answer? - geofc, May 18, 2010
esta es la misma calle que antes? Creo que se puede decir es la misma calle que vimos antes, pero se puede omitir el verbo ver o no? - isonder, May 18, 2010
