no tengo ni idea cómo decir "rubs off," creo que puedo usar 'cuándo la pintura se descasca" por "peeling" ????

Hello Sarita, welcome to the Forum. For future reference, please make sure to write your title and post using proper capitalization, punctuation and grammar, as much as possible.
You can say: "la pintura se está descascarando" or "la pintura se está pelando". Other related expressions: "La pintura se está cayendo", "La pintura se está agrietando", "la pintura se está abombando..."
