I saw this phrase in a Spanish chatroom several times & I'm not sure if it's the same as or is a fancy way of saying smoking "weed" or "marijuana". We do not tolerate expressions like this in the chat service company that I work in, but I couldn't tell if it's the same as "mota" so that we could block the user.

Well, I guess it means something like "smoking oregano" but I'm not sure if the kids are saying "cilantro" to mean "hierba (weed)."

cilantro is like parsley, not oregano. - santihp, MAY 18, 2010
I know, but we used to use the word "oregano" instead of "weed" when we were kids. - --Mariana--, MAY 18, 2010
cilantro is coriander. - lagartijaverde, MAY 18, 2010
Coriander just like oregano is an herb, & oregano is "fake weed." I still don't know about coriander though. - Deanski, JUN 8, 2010

Maybe he wants to day: "smoke weed", but he used CILANTRO as a metaphor.

That's what I was thinking, but I wasn't 100% sure. It's amazing how people come up with so many ways of calling it. - Deanski, JUN 8, 2010
