In legal terms, would Public Records be translated "Registros Publicos" or is there other teminology for Public Records. Any lawyers out there?

Hi kmeza

"Registros públicos" is correct. (note accent on "ú")

I haven't spent a whole lot of time on it (yet) but the only place (Spanish speaking) where I can find official "registros publicos" is Peru. It's beginning to look as if other countries use other terms but I still don't know what.

I'd say:

Archivos públicos
