Hello =Hola.
How are you? = ¿Cómo estás? (informal, singular)/ ¿Cómo está (usted)? (formal, singular)/ ¿Cómo estáis? (informal, plural)/ ¿Cómo están (ustedes)? (formal, plural)
Today = Hoy, put before "?"

o ¡ Hola ! ¿Cómo estás, hoy?
Of course, if you want to address someone older you need to use the Ud form to show respect shown below: ¡ Hola ! ¿ Cómo está Ud,hoy ?

A slightly more formal of way of saying hello would be: buenos días, buenas tardes, or buenas noches, depending on the time of day.
