Just a note that today's word of the day [as a noun] in Mexico also refers to what we call a 'smoothie' in English - a drink of blended fruit or fruit juices with or without ice, milk or sweetner. Also called 'un batido' in Cuban Spanish [also milkshake].

I've heard that used in Cuba and had one made of fresh fruit called mamei which was muy delicioso. - Delores--Lindsey, May 15, 2010
I't's possible that the fruit should be spelled with a "y" as I've never seen it written. Someone? - Delores--Lindsey, May 15, 2010
Yes, it's mamey. I've seen them in Mexico. - mar959, May 15, 2010
