pareja also means mate, not just pair. ie la pareja de ella, could mean her female friend, like wise el pareja de ella, her male friend.

so what about the second part of the sentence? " el pareja se esta yendo" why is it la pareja in the first part and el pareja in the second, and who is going'

Hmmm so, la pareja en la pareque esta besando= "the couple in the park are kissing" add "se" and it becomes " are kissing each other".

also sentence like "el hombre esta subiendo las escaleras"

if theres an se like " el hombre está subiéndose al camión" is this "se" to signify that the van is his? so instead of him "getting up in to a van" hes "getting up in to his van"'

What is happening to me, it's beginning to make sense.

The couple in the park are kissing
kissing what? kissing each other (se)

similar to above
irse is to go away, to leave
you must use the reflexive part of the verb ie, se
