Translator says:

Aprendo español, pero yo no hablo con fluidez

(Yo = optional)

I have heard many people say it with "Yo", but it is optional

The "yo" would be optional, of course. It would be understood without "yo" in the sentence. - danrivera, May 14, 2010
Excellent response apart from the use of personal pronoun yo - FELIZ77, Jul 1, 2010
the pp 'yo' is not necesary as the verb is already conjugated for1st person - FELIZ77, Jul 1, 2010
You have my vote just don't let Heidita see that yo hahahha - FELIZ77, Jul 1, 2010

I´m learning english but it´s very difficult for me to speak, I mean, I can´t speak english fluently, because I´m afraid I will make many mistakes. I have seen some people (spanish learners) asking their doubts here, and I have a good idea for them and me: I can correct their spanish and they can correct my english. Is there someone interested? My e mail es einyell3@gmail.com

Ask me anything in spanish, I´m sure I will be able to help you!

Your written English is very good : ) - chica_rica, Jul 1, 2010
Your English is good and will continue to improve with practice :-) :-) English is not an easy language to speak or write - FELIZ77, Jul 1, 2010
Wow, I'm impressed! I understand the hesitation to speak, but you certainly can express yourself well. - LateToDinner, Jul 1, 2010
One word I would change in 2d sentence: you might replace 'asking their doubts' to 'expressing their doubts.' Or change 'doubts' to 'questions.' - LateToDinner, Jul 1, 2010

Is it incorrect to use the present progressive form of aprender?

updated Jul 1, 2010

It's not prefered to use the progressive form unless you are actually studying at the moment someone asks you. "Estudio" is a better choice for "I study.." - --Mariana--, May 14, 2010
gracias por su ayuda - debdelafuente, May 14, 2010
Estoy aprendiendo is just fine to use here. Aprendo is also fine, but you are not incorrect to use the progressive. - alba3, May 14, 2010
I am more inclined to agree with Marianne that you would only use the Progressive tense when you are actually carrying out the action at that time otherwise the ipresent indicative eg 'estudio' is more commonly used - FELIZ77, Jul 1, 2010
Present tense 'Estudio' can meanI study I am studying,or I do study - FELIZ77, Jul 1, 2010

I agree with Princess Lena. I've heard "....pero no hablo con fluidez."
