I'm translating the following:

We believe that art, music and movement education are essential to developing reading, writing, math and critical thinking skills.

How would you translate "critical thinking skills."?

Welcome to the forum.

The educational lingo in Spanish is "habilidades de pensamiento crítico".

In this case, "habilidades" means "skills" in the sense of an ability that has been sharpened by training, which is what the whole point of "critical thinking skills" is in the educational environment.

I'd go for either this, or "La habilidad de pensar críticamente", as posted by Bman. - Gekkosan, May 14, 2010

"Destrezas de pensando críticamente" - literally Skills of thinking critically

"Destrezas del pensamiento crítico" - literally Skills of the critical thought

"La habilidad a pensar críticamente" - literally The ability to think critically

The first option is plainly incorrect. The other two work with these modifications: "Destrezas de pensamiento crítico"; ""La habilidad de pensar críticamente" - my favorite. - Gekkosan, May 14, 2010
