(non) Spanish Spanish
In the spanish language there are some differences between the 'Spanish' Spanish (spoken in Spain) and Spanish spoken other spanish speaking countries.
Differences in formal commands, the use of vosotros... things like that.
As a beginner it is very confusing and although even as a beginner one should try to use the correct form I can imagine that in real life, when visiting a Spanish speaking country, one can easily mix things up.
Now, my question is what if that happens? What if I call friends I made in for instance Argentina vosotros accompanied with the vosotros form of the verb I'm using. What if I say to a bunch off friends in Spain 'Comen la comida' in stead of 'Comed la comida'.
I suppose the will understand what I am trying to say, but how is it perceived? Is it perceived as an error or rather as a kind of dialect? And what if I always use the Ustedes form in Spain (even to friends)?

If you use the wrong form and call your friends in Spain ustedes, the world will end. Seriously, the last thing you'll hear is a kaboom, and then there will be only darkness!
Stop worrying about this. You're a beginner, they'll understand and correct you. It's no big deal. Your biggest obstacle will be speaking at all don't start panicking about the small stuff just yet, it will all slot into place later on! We learn by making mistakes.
HI Peti, this has been discussed before, please have a look at this thread, if you have any further questions, participate on that thread.
