What's the difference between "no conozco" and "no sé?"

Do you say No conozco . or No se. What is the difference between them??

"Conocer" is to know (be familiar with) a person, place, etc. "No conozco a Maria." (I don't know Maria).
"Saber" is to know a fact. "No sé la verdad." (I don't know the truth.)

Be sure you have spelled all the words correctly. "Papel picado" for example is a known term. "Picardo" does not appear to be known. - Moe, May 12, 2010
