Comfort vs. fun; escalator vs. stairs

Question

A video on an interesting Swedish study about human behavior. It seems to suggest that people prefer fun over comfort. Will comfort win again after the novelty of the situation wears out?

Fun or novelty though? As many have said, I wonder if it will wear off and actually become irritating. Those with long legs might have more success making a recognisable tune!! I would possibly manage 'Frere Jacque'...

A great idea! I wonder how many people would use it after a month, when the novelty has worn off.

I wonder too if there's a follow-up study on this experiment, but maybe their point is really to show that given the choice, people prefer fun over comfort. :) - Rikko, May 12, 2010
