Echar pedazo

This seems to be "To toss a piece". A mi me gusta, solo que después quedo confudido... Mi mente queda echa pedazos. Si, eso pasa al principio ¿De verdad? ...*

What could it mean? I like it, only thing is.....afterwards I am left confused. My mind "throws pieces". Yes, that happens at the beginning. Right? (Is that happens at the beginning right? Gracias)

After confusing "b" and "v" I reckon that missing a leading "h" is the second most common error in writing Spanish so I go along with dandi.

Why is hecha permitted? Isn't hecho the past participle of hacer? Gracias.

I found in the phrasebook just now, hacer pedazos means to tear to pieces. My mind is torn to pieces? Wouldn't it be Mi mente esta hecho en pedazos?

That's a wierd use of queda. My mind is left torn pieces. Wierd.

Hecho is functioning as an adjective in both of the sentences so it agrees with mente. Quedar is very versatile it seems!

This is something I have heard often:

Estoy hecho polvo (male) y Estoy hecha polvo (female) = I am exhaused/beat/super tired.

"My mind is left in pieces". It is just that in the English version the action to tear the mind into pieces is implicit - but it is there nevertheless! - Gekkosan, May 11, 2010
