La comisaría / la estación

Hi all, I need help on this one...seems to me "la comisaría" is for civil service and "la estación" is for public use when I come across in Lesson 1.15, until I just found out the police station can also be "la estación de policía". I wonder how to distinguish when to use these two words. Thanks

La comisaría = Police station. La estación de tren = Train station.

You're right. Estación can be used for "Police station," but not commonly done so. IE: "Estación de radio"....."radio station" is how we use it, or as Ken has mentioned.
In Mexico, Police station is Delegación. Having to go there is a very unpleasant experience.
