Martín Espada and I were in law school together. After working as a legal aid lawyer, he put his word skills to better use. Here is one of his poems:

EL POEMA DEL TAXISTA MEJICANO PARA SU ESPOSA, QUE LO HA ABANDONADO

Estábamos metidos en el tráfico sobre el Puente de Brooklyn, así que rogué a los poetas sentados en la parte de atrás de mi taxi que escribieran un poema para ti.

Ellos preguntaron si tú eres como la luna o como los árboles.

Dije: –No, ella es como el puente cuando hay tanto tráfico que tengo tiempo de observar los barcos en el río.

Forgive my insolence in that I am unwilling to consult a dictionary.

NO, She is like the bridge when there is so much traffic that I have time to observe the ships in the ocean (river). Beautiful. I love it. She is like the bridge. Tell him that I too, feel the bridge as I watch the slow traffic. I miss the bridge that holds me tightly. Goodnight señor.
