I need help translating this sentence,

'Your rehabilitation will be painful and trying".

Su rehabilitation sera doloroso y te pondra a prueba.

It's "trying" that I'm struggling with.

I happen to have my unabridged handy as I'm working on a paper. Under 'trying' it says:

duro;

desquiciante;

es una persona que "pone a prueba" mi paciencia (I find him quite trying)

No, that's not the meaning of "trying" here. Trying as in the sense of testing one's patience, endurance. - tennismom, May 8, 2010
