The year "2010" and "2005"
I am having an issue with this with my friend Valerie. 
So the other day she said on the voice chat, oh no, don't say
two thousand ten, that is not correct, say
twenty ten
And I asked her today, so how do you say 2010 and she goes: two thousand ten 
Ok, so far so good. Now I am asking her, ok so how about 2005, and she goes, well, that would be
two thousand and five.
While 1905, would be, nineteen O five. Makes no sense at all, so why not
Twenty O five??
She says it sounds weird. Now that is a good and firm reason for you

So she is asking her husband and he says, it is most certainly
twenty ten

We usually take short cuts , so just say -- two five, and two ten , why waste words we all know it is two thousand, so easy and quick does the trick! 
Here in the UK, we have labelled 2000 -2009, the naughties....which follows on from the eighties (80's) the nineties (90's) and the naughties lol
Either way is currently accepted for 2010.
In my opinion, two thousand ten and twenty ten are both correct. I have heard them both and I have probably said them both. However, I personally am much more likely to say two thousand ten. I always hear people say twenty twelve but I suspect that when twenty twelve actually arrives we'll be just as likely to say two thousand twelve. I think that there's just something that sounds almost apocalyptical about saying twenty ten, twenty twelve, etc.
She is right twenty O five sounds incredibly odd. And you are right nineteen O five makes no sense at all but that's exactly how it would be said.
2010-two thousand ten?. 1905-nineteen hundred five? 2005-two thousand five?
As far as I know, and I cannot explain why, but years 2000-2009 are "two thousand and... " but starting this year, it reverts to the old way "20-10" or "19-99" or "19-oh-5" etc. By the way, it was "the year two thousand" but 1900 was "nineteen hundred". And I cannot explain why, not a chance! 
I don't know if it's correct or not, but I say two thousand ten. Great question!
Both are right but "Twenty Ten" is easier to say. It has a nice ring to it too. You can't be saying "Two thousand and ten" every time you mention the year 
.
That's English for you! Doesn't have to make sense, just get it right.
I just say two thousand and ten, may be different with different countries though. I have heard some people say twenty ten but that's only slang really.
So: nineteen O five, two thousand and five and two thousand and ten would be my solutions! Hope this helps 
Wow, It took me a few minutes to think about this one! With a year that has no number in the hundredths place(2005) I would say that saying two thousand five sounds more correct but twenty O five would be clearly understood and a lot of people say it in everyday speech. For a year with a number in the hundredths place(1905) you would almost always say nineteen O five or nineteen hundred and five mostly because it is much shorter than saying one thousand nine hundred and five.
Lol. It does not matter. In Spanish it matters, but in English it does not. 20-10 and 2,010 are both correct. The same thing applies when you count numbers and you go above 1,000. 1100 can be eleven hundred or one thousand one hundred. Hope this helps!
I'd do a double-take if someone said 'twenty ten' to me - we don't use it around here - two thousand ten would sound americanised too. - galsally
So, "The Battle of Hastings was in ten sixty-six" would also cause you to do a double-take?

HI annie, well this one is tricky, that's why I was asking it in the first place,. My first thought was,
twenty five
would be the thing to say. Now then ...I thought, oh, and then how do we say 25 after Christ? Hmmmm
So I guessed, two thousand and five. The "o" five did not even ocurr to me, I guess I have never heard that.
But now we have come to the decenas, so, I think and going with what you have always said, (19 29, 18 67 etc, ) the only logical thing to say would be
20 10 (twenty ten)
I find it highly amusing that you (all) don't agree on this, 
no consistency in this language! 
I would say O' ten, but the correct way is two-thousand ten. It was really confusing when they said madden '10. Twenty ten is just short.
