to sweep, to sweep out = Barrer

If you want to use the word "escoba" you have to say "pasar la escoba", no "escobar"

The definition as a verb should be "to sweep, to sweep out."

However, I found this in the R A E:

"Sitio donde abunda la escoba" and "escobar" can mean a tall shrub from which brooms are made.

Did you look in an English dictionary for broom. It is a plant, so RAE looks correct. - 0074b507, May 6, 2010
