Does this sound okay? Is "Gracias por venir a mi presentación sobre (una tema importante)" better?

Number 2. #1 is more like, ''I'm going to present to you about an important theme.'' Slightly awkward. #2 is better, as well as being more polite.

You could say the words you wrote above and many spanish speaking people would understand the message you are trying to convey but to write it in better spanish you would say:
Me gustaría darle la gracias (a todos) por venir a ver mi presentación sobre una tema importante = I would like to thank you (all) for coming to see my presentation about an important subject/on an important theme
