Do the lessons provided here on Spanish Dict: Lesson 1

and try to speak with Spanish words every now and then....sneak the words in there so you get used to saying themsmile

In the real world, it helps to be around Spanish speakers....

Take a class or two at your local community collage and see if you still want to put effort into learning more.

I would say exactly the oposite of the other two answers. I have tried many online programs and none of them have taught me Spanish effectively. Now I am taking a spanish class, and I have learned more (and faster) than I ever thought possible for myself. GO TAKE A CLASS WITH REAL PEOPLE!
Hope this helps.

Reading, especially out loud, is good. Record yourself and listen to your accent. Watch TV shows and movies with Spanish soundtracks. You may not understand all the words, but your ear will start to become attuned to the sounds. Find other people who speak Spanish and practice on them. Drills and memorization have their place, but there's nothing like actually communicating with other people.

Welcome to the forum! You will have to use a variety of resources. The lessons at SpanishDict are free and very good. You can take all four levels. This will help a lot and build your vocabulary. Participate in the Answers forum and spend time with Spanish speaking people where you live. It is essential to always be studing, speaking, reading, and writing Spanish every day if you are serious about learning it.
