For Cinco de Mayo, my Spanish II class is doing little projects, and I decided to make a children's story book. Here's the first part in English, then Spanish. If you spot any grammatical or conjugating mistakes, etc. please let me know!

Marisol is very excited. Today is Cinco de Mayo, her favorite holiday.

--> Marisol esta muy entusiasmada. ¡Hoy es Cinco de Mayo, su día de festiva favorito!

As soon as she wakes up, she hears her mother in the kitchen. She is preparing the food for tonight's dinner.

--> Tan pronto como se despierta, escucha su madre en la cocina. Su madre esta preparando la comida para le cena de esta noche.

"Good morning, Marisol," she says. "After you eat your cereal, please help you sister decorate the house."

--> "Buenos días Marisol," se dice. "Despues tu comes tu ceral, por favor ayudas tu hermana decorar la casa."

That's all I've translated so far. How am I doing?

I'm confused about some of the comments I've gotten on the "Despues tu comes tu cereal" part. I was trying to say after you eat your cereal, but would you conjugate comer different than normal? - Abella, May 1, 2010
The comments are referring to the fact that it should be después "de" + infinitive or después "de" + que+subordinate clause - 0074b507, May 1, 2010

-->... su día festivo favorito!

-->...escucha "a" su madre en la cocina. Ella esta preparando..... para "la" cena....

-->... ella dice..."Después que comas tu cereal, por favor ayuda "a" tu hermana "a" decorar la casa."

You are doing good so far. However, take more attention to the articles, so you do not ommit them.

I just read it what you've posted and there is one mistake that it needs to be correct when you say Inglish " Marisol is very excited. Today is Cinco de Mayo, her favorite holiday.

--> Marisol esta muy entusiasmada. ¡Hoy es Cinco de Mayo, su dia de fiesta favorito
