If you were, say, leaving written instructions for someone staying in a house or something, I would say, "Favor de mantener las puertas y ventanas cerradas." That is not in command form and so it works for , Ud., Uds. and vosotros. If you wanted to tell a specific person or people to keep the windows and doors closed, here are the forms of the various commands: Tú: Por favor mantiene las puertas y ventanas cerradas. Ud.: Por favor mantenga las puertas y ventanas cerradas. Uds.: Por favor mantengan las puertas y ventanas cerradas. Vosotros: Por favor mantened las puertas y ventans cerradas.

It should be in command form, right? "Por favor, mantenga[n] las puertas y las ventanas cerrados."

I was just trying to edit my post on this exact mistake, but for some reason Spanishdict.com doesn't quite work right with Windows Explorer and I can't :( - aceydoubleyou, Apr 30, 2010

Formal singular: Por favor mantenga las puertas y ventanas cerradas. Formal/Informal plural (Latin America): Por favor mantengan las puertas y ventanas cerradas. Informal singular: Por favor mantén las puertas y ventanas cerradas. Informal plural (Spain only): Por favor mantengáis las puertas y ventanas cerradas.
