que es un "pretito"?
One example of context is from the K-Paz song, "Que Milagro Chaparrita"
soy de las penas mas altas donde late temprano el sol soy pretito y no lo niego chaparrita de mi vida y no te cambio de color

Please, see how the RAE makes a distinction between the meaning of 'prieto' in Cuba and Mexico. In Mexico 'prieto' is not really use to describe someone of 'raza negra' (black race) but to describe someone of 'dark skin/complexion'. If someone is clearly of black race they would be describe as having 'piel negra' or 'piel obscura'.

I never use the word 'prieto' anyway, I much prefer the word 'moreno'. 'Prieto' sounds a little harsh to my ears.
I think is "prietito", i haven't heard that song but here we use "prieto and prietito" and yes, is someone who is black.
