If it's a human you have to use parecerse, to mean look like? Mira....
Parezco una tortuga Me parezco a mi papá.
Parece que estás cansada. Me parece que tu estás un poco cansada.
Parece una tortuga - He resembles a turtle Se parece a su papá.
Pareces una tortuga - You resemble a turtle? Te pareces a tu papá.
These are all right? parecer for animal, parecerse otherwise.
