I need to know what ser means.
My teacher told me that it was where from but I do not get why there is also ser for pronouns.

Hi and welcome to the forum.
This lesson teaches the difference between "ser" and "estar," the two verbs that me "to be."
I think your teacher was using "ser" to say "soy de los Estados Unidos" (I am from the U.S.)
Hello, and welcome to the forum. Ser means 'to be.' Estar also means 'to be' but is used in different cases. Edit: I see Marianne has posted a link to lesson on the difference. (I didn't mean to post the same thing, I just didn't see her answer before posting mine.)
