Es aconsejable que usted duerma para ocho horas todos los noches. or should I use por. Es aconsejable que usted duerma por ocho horas todos los noches. It's for a length of time but it's been a while since we went over por vs. para in my class. Also, which would be better todos los noches or cada noche. I can't decide which would be more appropriate and this is being graded so I could use someone's opinion. Gracias.

I just wanted to point out that that is a general rule and cannot always be applied to everything. What Scott said can be applied most times but not always, so watch out. - MeEncantanCarasSonrisas, Apr 27, 2010

I would say, Es aconsejable que usted duerma por ocho horas cada noche.

In this case "por" must be used.

Noche is feminine gender.

Por. Check the Spanish reference. Great articles!

Noches is also feminine so it would be todas las noches.
