Falda vs. Regazo

Is it ever permissible to use falda for lap rather than regazo?

I am sure that I have heard it used that way, but it is not listed in the dictionary as such.

Gekkosan is absolutely correct. This could lead to an embarrassing moment. Falda means both Skirt and Lap....... Regazo means Lap only.

Yes, but only for women. Many men are not too keen on the idea of having someone sit on their "skirts".
