Is I was going to the store every day and I went to the store every day the same thing, because I always view iba as "I was going" just me. - jeezzle, Apr 25, 2010
I also read "iba" as "I used to go." - --Mariana--, Apr 25, 2010
Gracias. Iba .... I was going and I used to go. - jeezzle, Apr 25, 2010
Would not "went" be an acceptable substitute for "I used to go"? - danrivera, Apr 25, 2010
So I was correct? I just wanted to make sure I had it right? - danrivera, Apr 25, 2010
well went, as I view it is usually fui (I went) but thats a "point in time" thing... ie it is preterite. Imperfect past indicates that you "were going" as in more than once, you went more than once, hence the confusion with went. He was going to the store - jeezzle, Apr 25, 2010
and imperfect past should be correct here it's just that, iba is a little different than most imperfect past verbs in that it seems more like, was going or used to go, and I don't personally see it as went per se but I do think that it works as went in - jeezzle, Apr 25, 2010
