A jump to the emptiness? Seems like Spanish uses al where we would use en in English. Un salto al vacio, el veneno mas letal.

vacío needs an accent on the "i". - Stardust2212, Apr 25, 2010

Hola Jeezzle, for the English, I'm thinking more 'a jump into the void'...I know of course you have to use the definite article in Spanish if it is a general statement so that's why that part but what a statement! Just to let you know I really enjoy your posts.

gracias otra vez, and I like better what Ian said - should be 'a leap into the void' Wow! - margaretbl, Apr 25, 2010

Is this a translation question? I'd say it's "a jump into the void, the most lethal poison"

So you like void for vacio instead of emptiness? I think of olvido as void too, or oblivion type of void. Gracias. - jeezzle, Apr 25, 2010
Well in this case based on the context you've given it's most likely void. As for the olvido thing, I actually didn't know about that, I'm going to find an excuse to use it when I'm speaking :D - indysidnarayan, Apr 25, 2010
I prefer "void" here too. - --Mariana--, Apr 25, 2010

I would use a "A leap in the dark" - for some reason we don't say "into"

But of course we say "A leap into the unknown"

Dark for vacio? Dark as in emptiness, unknown? I guess I can see it. - jeezzle, Apr 25, 2010
