The expression "Madre del Cordero"

Question

I have just seen and heard this phrase being used on Spanish TV (subtitled in Castelleno or Peninsular Spanish).

Some locals were complaining about overhead Electricity Power Lines criss-crossing their land and possibly affecting their health. They were complaining that the authorities in Madrid or Barcelona didn't care about them and they couldn't do anything to stop the pylons being constructed on thier land.

The last thing this person said was : " Es la madre del cordero."

What can it mean idiomatically?

I think it has something to do with a specific trouser popular in the 80s and 90s...

I wrote a post in the first few weeks of starting SD , which was" list all the names

which are made from Madre and Padre". I am interested in words and their association with different languages, unfortunately it bombed out.

Thanks for this post. I just finished this book... called funny enough... Madre... and am now obsessed with making a list of all the "madre" expressions out there. Had not seen madre de un cordero before.

BTW... you can get the book on Amazon... if anyone is interested in the subject... which is basically about living in another country and finding a word that everyone uses all the time and no one teaches in class.

Off to add madre de un cordero to my list!
