Question about the subjunctive "si" clauses

I know that things like "si tuviera tiempo" are placed in the subjunctive. What I don't know is if this applies to the present tense with a "si" clause. Would it be Parate si el semáforo sea rojo or parate si el semáforo es rojo?

No, you would only the subjunctive with si on contrary to fact sentence which. For example Si tuviera dinero, viajaria mas (If I had money, I would travel more) The format is similar in English, expect English doesn't used the subjuctive for the portion expressed in the past. Como si (as if) always take imprefect subjective If you still have doubt take at look the subjunctive lessons on here, or buy the book Pratice Makes Perfect: The Spanish Subjunctive Up Close by Eric Vogt It cleared up a lot of my doubts on the use of the Subjuntctive.

I reckon I'd go for "sea" although a great many folk don't seem to use the subjunctive at all.

On a different tack, I wrote lol in upper case today in a comment and got a severe response from a moderator who said that using upper case is "shouting" and not permitted. Even worse he cancelled my whole post. So be a tad cautious about emphasizing a word by using caps like you have with "sea" above.
