I am reading a book " El Paraiso" by Elena Castedo. She was born in Barcelona in 1937. She use these words la mamusca and el papusco which I never hear before. I think they mean mom and dad, but they not in the dictionary. Thank you!

Yes, it can mean mon and dad. However, it depends mostly of the context. Mamusca can be said to a beatiful women and papusco can be said to a handsome man.

Are these perhaps catalán for "mother" and "father" or "mom" and "dad"?

Great question!
