Oh, no, no, no, no!

"Manjar blanco" is one of the most delicious creations under the Heavens!

It is essentially a caramel made out of sweetened milk - even better if made with goat milk.

Is is also known as "Dulce de Leche", "Arequipe" or "Cajeta" (depending on the country), and it's absolutely delicious.

"Torta de Manjar Blanco" is a killer, diet-busting, gloriously yummy cake made by alternating layers of a thin, not-quite-phyllo puff pastry, with layers of manjar. Like this:

My brother in law brought a huge Torta de Milhojas (the name for this cake in Chile) all the way from Chile to be our wedding cake. I have been addicted ever since!

Good food. Eat it.

A torta is like a panini sorta. Meat, maybe cheese, and perhaps some pickled cabbage.

If you're picky you may want to ask what's on it because that name doesn't say. Literally it's a "tasy white torta"

manjar blanco is like a custard made of or containing white rice, but, I never heard of a torta de manjar blanco.
