la comunicacion entre las culutras would be more word for word, but are you talking about communication that is independent of culture (some sort of mathematical or computer language) or communication that is understandable in most cultures due to commonalities between the cultures.

(an example would be the symbols used internationally on bathrooms doors.--in most of our modern cultures women wear skirts and men don't, so the symbols make use of that commonality. I don't know how that works in Scotland, Turkey, the Pacific Islands, etc.)
