Why are some -ed words not able to be translated using the translate bar?

I have used the translate bar repeatedly with a number of words. Some include ending in -ed. Although some translated others did not. I was encouraged by the computer to pick the root word because it did "not find in the dictionary". Bu,t I was just wondering why there are some translations for -ed words and others not? There may be an explanation I have overlooked, thus I apologize if I have!!!!!

I'm sure this must be because the programmers and editors have not had a chance to put in every -ed word available. It's a huge task.
