What is a word for "hat"? in spanish??
Not a ski cap or a sombrero, just hat in general????

Hi Karate,
As a rule, a "sombrero" is a hat with a brim and a "gorra" is a hat with a visor. A "gorra" can also be a ski hat. "Gorro" is sometimes used for a hat with no visor.
I'm not sure what you're looking for, if it's not one of these.

People in US have the wrong idea. "Sombrero" is for any hat, not only the Mexican "sombrero" .
