Sorry Heidita, I never realized! I'm not very used to type in my new laptop... flat keys + quick fingers= mistakes - AntMexico, Apr 20, 2010
...I agree with chacksobaka and I apologize for having taken russian as an example, might have been any other language... - luz_72, Apr 20, 2010

;) - AntMexico, Apr 20, 2010

If I was to learn another language, it would probably be french, german or italian. If there's a few I just couldn't do, it would be Mandarin or something with a whole lot of complicated characters!

I think I will just stick with Spanish though, french or italian could confuse me a bit because they are so similar to Español! cheese smile grin

The other day, in this thread, I mentioned that I would not be learning Russian. I think all languages have their own individual beauty. However, for me, I tend to be more drawn to the romance languages. I really don't think I have the patience of learning a language like Greek, Russian or Chinese because they use an entirely different alphabet. For me, I think it is difficult enough to learn a second language even when that language uses the same basic alphabet system.

Some people just love to learn languages for the sake of learning them. I admire these people. For me, I really need to have some sort of motivation and goal to push me through the difficult challenges. I have many reasons for wanting to learn Spanish, so I think that will be my one and only language focus for now. smile

Vietnamese, if what I hear about it is true then it couldn't be further from English.

I agree with nizhoni1. Any of the Asian/Pacific languages would be too alien for my old brain to deal with. My lazy study habits would not help, either.

Not meaning to offend if you are referring to what I said. I am commenting in terms of difficulty.
