What would be the spanish translation for the word: "Trademark" As in: His trademark was to always play a blue guitar?

I agree with Marianne. "Trademark" in this sense is idiomatic. Used in its literal meaning, it's, "Marca registrada."

Our dictionary says "sello personal" for a person's trademark characteristic.
