I'm trying to figure out if "la cola" is synonymous with the Italian word "coda". In Italian it means "tail" and it signifies the end of a musical piece. - Nicole-B, Apr 19, 2010
Does anyone have the answer for this? :) - Nicole-B, Apr 19, 2010
I haven't understood it. But may this help you http://www.wordreference.com/enit/tail - Fidalgo, Apr 19, 2010
Gracias Fidalgo. I know for sure that the Italian word "coda" and the Spanish word "la cola" both mean tail as pertains to an animal. I am still wondering if the other definitions listed under "cola" translate the same in Italian. For example "line", etc. - Nicole-B, Apr 19, 2010
Oh, I agree with you. Another link http://www.wordreference.com/iten/coda - Fidalgo, Apr 19, 2010

¿Cuál escogido, las cabezas o las colas? Which do you choose, heads or tails?

This is what people say when flipping a coin, isn't it? confused Sorry but "¿Cuál escogido, las cabezas o las colas?" doesn't make much sense in Spanish. In Mexico when someone flips a coin and makes you choose they ask: "¿Qué escoges, cara o cruz?" or even "¿águila o sol?" but I think "cara o cruz" is more common nowadays.

Feel free to correct my English! grin

isn't "it"? I never heard this expression in Spanish before. I have to write this down. I hope it is in the phrasebook. :) - Nicole-B, Apr 20, 2010

La palabra cola tiene una larga linea de sinónimos pero, pienso que el antónimo es solo, "una horda." The word line has a long queue of synonyms but I think the antonym is only, "a crowd."

I think you'd say "esto" because the subject is neither male nor female -- it neutral. - --Mariana--, Apr 19, 2010
