What is the best word for 'performance'?

Hi everyone,
When I look up the word for 'to perform' or 'performance' I always get a lot of possibilities and I'm not sure which would be the best in the case of a dance performance and not a play. How would I say something like:
"I have a dance performance/show today"
or
"I perform (dance) on a stage"

In this case, performance =representación, to perform =representar
"I perform on a stage" = "Represento en la escena"
"I have a performance today" = "Hoy tengo una representación"
