Depression in Spanish

How are the words depressed and depression used in Spanish?

In English they have the double meaning of being sad and/or suffering from the illness called depression. The line between those meanings is ambivalent and gives rise to a host of associations with the word 'depressed'.

I wonder if it's the same in Spanish.

(In Hebrew, for example, they say "I'm in depression" for both implications)

Hola,

It is like in English. It depends on the context when you use the word. Some times "la depre" means "the blues".

Hopefully other people will explain further.
