I have something to tell you

I have something to tell you

  1. Tengo algo que decirte.
  2. Tengo algo de decirte.
  3. Tengo algo para decirte.
  4. Tengo algo por decirte.
  5. Tengo algo de que hablar contigo.

Are all of these forms right? Gracias. I think the 1st, 3rd, and 5th are best even though I don't get the "que" so much except to think instinctively that it belongs there. Maybe any instance of tengo que and hay que can easily be reversed as long as there is a connecter. Anyway....I assume "Tengo algo decirte" doesn't work. Gracias.

Gracias. What about the last one, Tengo algo de que hablar contigo? - jeezzle, Apr 13, 2010
No, but "Tengo algo que hablar contigo" is correct :) - Benz, Apr 13, 2010

actually, i think that "tengo algo decirte" is the best. Tengo algo que decirte.- I have something that to tell you. Tengo algo de decirte.- i have something of to tell you. Tengo algo de que hablar contigo.- i have something of that to talk with you.

hope this helps!

Tengo algo que decirte = Tengo que decirte algo not I have something that to tell you. I must say that I disagree with you. - jeezzle, Apr 13, 2010
and i must say your answer does not make sense :) wait, you asked this...if you know, why didn't you answer it yourself? - lolita_lovee, Apr 13, 2010
because I am asking help from people, I don't KNOW the answer but I am telling you what I do know. I believe you are incorrect but I suppose we shall see, we are all learners, perhaps it is I that is wrong. - jeezzle, Apr 13, 2010
You are awfully incorrect :) - Benz, Apr 13, 2010
Which one? - ian-hill, Apr 13, 2010
