Sleep or get slept
I want to say something different to:
Go to bed or go to sleep
What should I say if a person is in bed or on a sofa and I want this person to sleep. How should it be the order?
Thank you.

Go to sleep. (an order, very common)
Would you please go to sleep? (still sounds like an order, usually said with some frustration, not as common)
Get to sleep. (an order)
It's time for bed./It's bedtime. (not an order)
It's time to go to sleep. (not an order)
Good night. Sweet dreams.
slept is past tense, not used with get - I slept well last night.
Hi Nila. Good question.
Alba and Swing gave some good examples.
I would say:
"Go to bed" if I want the person to move from his current location to the bed.
"Go to sleep" if I want the person to sleep wherever he is now, e.g., on the sofa, on the bed, etc.
You can also say "Get some sleep because it's going to be a long day tomorrow."
If you're telling him to sleep, it would be: You should be sleeping now. Also you can use other ways to say that. Like: Go to sleep. Get to sleep (it means try to be sleeping). You can use "slept" in: "I thought you would have slept. Go to sleep!" Or just simply "Sleep!". Hope it works.
"Go to sleep" if I want the person to sleep wherever he is now, e.g., on the sofa, on the bed, etc.
Really?.
