"Joined" date listed in user profile

Has anyone noticed how the date listed as "Joined" in the user profile always seems to be a recent date? Why is this? Is this a programming error?

I've noticed this too, and I think your assesment is correct. - 005faa61, Apr 12, 2010

When I entered "join date" into the question search window, I found nine previous threads/posts about this topic. It is ongoing and not solved as problems go.

Yes, this has been going on for a long time. There are not enough programmers at SD to get into this issue at this time. - --Mariana--, Apr 13, 2010

I think the jointed date is the date you last connected to your account. If you want to see the date you jointed this website, look in your latest activity, the bottom line, or the line just above learning.

I can see you jointed SD 01/Apr/10

If that were true, "Joined" would be the improper term. However, directly under "Joined" is "Last Seen", which would be more appropriate for displaying the information you are referring to. - danrivera, Apr 12, 2010

Has anyone else inquired about this issue?
