I can't think of a specific song right now, but have you looked at any of the songs by the Buena Vista Social Club or any of its members? I know they do a lot of love songs, but I think they may also have some songs that might fit your needs.

I have also heard that there were some songs in Spain that came out about the peseta, the currency of Spain before the Euro, and using that as like a metaphor for a loss of identity/culture.
