What is the difference between ésta, éste, and esto?

Question

What is the difference between esta, este, and esto. They all mean ¨this¨ and I know one must be mas. and one fem. Estoy confudido.

Ésta is used with feminine nouns. For example, ésta mesa.

Éste is used with masculine nouns. For example, éste libro.

Esto is used when you don't have either a feminine or masculine noun. For example, ¿Qué es esto?

"Éste" se usa para masculino.

"Ésta" se usa para femenino.

"Esto" es neutro ni masculino ni femenino (No masculino, No femenino).

Ejemplos;

Éste libro. Éste lápiz, Éste día, Éste fin de mes, Éste retrato, Éste papel, Éste comentario, Éste problema, Éste sistema, Éste reloj, Éste horario, Éste clima, Éste bote, Éste ventilador, Éste automóvil, Éste cigarro, Éste mp3, Éste árbol.... etc.

Todos los ejemplos anteriores podrían llevar "El".

Ejemplos;

El libro, El lápiz, El día, El fin de mes, El retrato, El papel, El comentario, El problema, El sistema... etc.

Ahora...

Otros ejemplos;

Ésta libreta, Ésta silla, Ésta mesa, Ésta laptop, Ésta computadora, Ésta PC, Ésta ocasión, Ésta mochila, Ésta vez, Ésta carretera, Ésta autopista, Ésta cochera, Ésta planta, Ésta semilla, Ésta espada, Ésta orilla, Ésta camisa, Ésta casa, Ésta habitación, Ésta ventana... etc.

También estos pueden quedar así con "La";

La Libreta, La silla, La mesa, La laptop, La computadora, La PC, La ocasión, La mochila, La vez (La vez en que...), La carretera, La autopista... etc.

Cuando usar "Esto", recordemos que es neutro...

Esto es como "This" ???

Esto está mal ("Está es Ser" verb To be").

La diferencia está en el "´" (acento también llamado tilde)
